It’s National Lighthouse Day!

Before electricity, large fires were lit in the top of lighthouses so captains knew not to sail too close in order to avoid dangers to their ships. The design has come a long way since then. Did you know that Nova Scotia boasts 150 lighthouses? Here’s a link so you can check them all out! There’s no doubt that one of the most famous lighthouses in the province is Peggy’s Cove; we make an annual trip to that light each summer, it’s become tradition!  No offense to Peggy’s Cove, but some lesser known lights to check out in the article from Global News:
